On friday I ordered a UAG case. I had two of them for the M8, invisible and black. I preferred the invisible because it is more grippy. I really like the case best case i have used the one for the m9 has not arrived yet.
My Dot View came today it's pretty cool but won't be my every day case since it doesn't cover the whole phone. I'll mess with it more tomorrow. I just played with the themes and the scrolling text. Oh and i called myself to see what it looked like. It is hard to read and after the theme shows it defaults to 3 rows of like 3 or 4 numbers I don't know what that is but that's really hard to see. But it's neat and not bad for 25 bucks. But now I need one good case and I think I'm gonna do Seidio this time instead of Ottorbox Commuter cause i want a kickstand. But the color I want isn't out yet.
Edit: Oh I just found a setting show 3 latest calls I turned that off that is what the numbers were that were hard to see. Oh and the dot breaker game is cute! My husband texted me but I didn't see a notification the theme just lit up. I unchecked messages and checked Handcent to be uused but I think it's cute!
Real nice, the best of both worlds:
Provides a good amount of protection where,I'm guessing, most wear & tear occurs, around the edges.
Still allows for that nice cold feeling of the metal, the edges are raised enough to protect both screen & camera lens when placed flat down on either side.
All ports/cutouts are aligned properly, including the I/R Blaster.
It's no OTTERBOX,but, when paired w/a body skin & screen protector combo, should provide ample protection during most typical daily use.
My dot view is cool when it's darker in the room or night on my home from work. I like it pretty well but still would like one more good case like Otterbox or Seidio preferably a kickstand case. This $2.59 one off Amazon was so bad wasn't even worth my time to send it back.
I misplaced one of my go-to accessories for all phones,my leather holster/pouch.
Did a quick purchase history on e-Bay to find the exact one for replacement & came across something I like even better:
I haven't seen anyone mention it, but I really like the Tech21 Evo Check M9 case. The main case is fairly minimal, but has excellent protection if it drops on the corner or edge.
Purchased the HTC dot view case. After one month it ripped along the spline. Store will not take it back. Going to contact HTC directly. Anyone else experience this?
I bought one direct from HTC & it had a cosmetic flaw, noticeable from the Get-Go.
They were real cool & issued a refund before I could even get it in the mail.
Your situation is a bit different, but,my guess is if you have the proof of purchase & explain your situation, they'll work w/you for a fair resolution.
Had problem that after a year or so, one of the corner tabs that hold the case on the phone snapped off. Case now useless, soooo went with a simple gel case. Didn't want to spend on another high end case. (The gel case is easier to hold when using the phone compared with having to fold back the Dot Case cover.)
One month is fast. My hinge spline failed at the lower left corner after four months. This seems to be a common failure mode (search through web reviews). The hinge stresses are pretty high if the cover is frequently folded behind the phone. Amazon sells the HTC Dot View Ice for $28 USD and some 3rd party cones for as little as $13 USD.
I had a case mate naked tough for my 2 M9 s.
One cracked after a couple of drops, giving its life to protect the phone. It worked, and they are now sold out.
Lucky to find the Spigen slim armor case from Amazon at $7.99! What a case. The phone feels new again. Love it. Best case ever from a guy who never used cases until this phone. This feels super in hand. The m9 it's tough to hold naked. Spigen feels like this is how it should be. Better than no case for feel and secure perfection in protection
