Help Mac/EVO Calendar Sync

Need help syncing iCal on a Mac with a calendar on Evo. Was doing it with Missing Sync, but my EVO died, I have a new one and need to start anew without buying the software again. Tried to reach Mark Space but their tech support is virtually non-existent. I'm open to suggestions, or a better way.

Anybody?

Is it possible for you to migrate to Google calendar? Things will be so much better.

If you are using iCal on your mac under the current Mac OS (OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard), you should be able to set iCal to sync with Google Calendar -- which in turn will sync with your phone. In iCal, go to preferences>accounts to add your Google account to iCal. If you need more assistance, search for "google" in iCal's help. Works like a charm for me. Anything I enter in iCal gets immediately synced to my phone. Anything I enter on the phone gets synced right to iCal.

Thanks - sounds almost too easy!
I don't have Snow Leopard, just OSX 10.5.8, and what I've read says I need to create a "MobileMe" account for $99 a year. Is this necessary?

You definitely do not need a mobile me account under Snow Leopard but I think you are right that it may have been needed under Leopard. This article from Google, though, describes the steps under OS 10.5 and does not seem to require Mobile Me:

Alternatively, you may just want to wait a day or two -- rumor has it that Apple is about to make Mobile Me a free service, possibly as early as tomorrow's iPad 2 announcement.

Where did you see that?

The Google "cloud" is exactly like MobileMe. The OS you need - as indicated in the instructions is
Apple iCal 3.x and up (on Mac OS X v10.5+) support CalDAV sync.

I was worried when I first did it, but it was SIMPLE and a breeze. I played around with it a few days and I haven't looked back. My calendar, tasks or contact has never been more organized.

OK, I'm up and running - Yay! And thanks!! Now I just need to get the info from my non google iCal calendar into the google one. I've exported, but when I import the file it seems to go into an endless loop. What am I missing?

This is so cool!

you can sync your iCal and Google calendar with SyncMate - it is ablsolutely free for syncing contacts and calendars. Moreover, it can sync your Mac and Android calendars directly without the necessity of syncing with Google (if you want to sync with Android of course:) )

Cheers!
