Help mac not recognizing LG optimus

friends,

can some one give me a little info on connecting my LG optimus to my mac...

2 things ...
1st and foremost, my mac is not recognizing my lg optimus at all. the 1st time i connected the 2 it worked fine. now some time late as i connect the 2 via USB the only thing that happens is the phone charges.
previous, when connected, the optimus appear basically as a flashdrive, a few folders, the only folder with any thing in it was the photos...?

i read some posts about changing the USB cable. that didnt help.

2nd.
does any one know of a good FREE app to manage the phone via the laptop.
i dont use google accounts. basically i want to be able to use the calender and various other apps on on my phone through the computer.

THnx
any help would be greatly appreciated!!!.

Hey, I've been having exactly the same dilemma...

It's pretty weird- I think we might need to find an app that allows file transfers to Mac? But the problem is the one available on Android is for Android 3.0, and if you're on Optimus Black I think we're on 2.2...

It's really annoying.

Let me know if you find the solution!

I just connected my optimus to my mac. It charged and asked me to set up a network, which I canceled. Then "light-bulb" I turned on the phone. The phone displayed a screen asking to go into USB mode. I turned it on. The drive displays on my mac.

Simple. Hope this helps.

I had this problem on my GT540 using OS X Lion. I unchecked the flag for Settings > SD card & phone storage settings > Mass storage only, then it worked. Hope that helps
