usually when i connect my s4 to my macbook it would immediately display a 'connected as a usb device' notification and my macbook would detect it straight away. but recently this doesnt happen anymore even with a different macbook and different usb cables. i've already enabled the usb debugging option in the developer options setting but nothing still works, please help! Thanks a lot!

Hey I have moved your thread into the Galaxy S4 forum so you can get some better assistance.

I have also given your post a free bump. I hope this helps!

To assist you with your issue, have you tried clicking on the USB icon on your device when you connect it to see what type of connection is present when your device is connected to your computer. You might need to change that around.

Also make sure you have USB drivers installed for your device, they might need to be updated.

Have you installed Google's Android File Transfer tool on your Mac? I presume so, since that's generally needed to transfer files over USB to a Mac with most recent Android phones, but thought I should ask to be sure.
