machine noise in galaxy note video

Has anyone come across a annoying background noise in the galaxy note ?
When a room is quiet and I record something I get this machine type noise in playback .

Any help would be grateful.

I'm having this issue as well.

Really loud hissing, whirring noises and stuff. There's a really loud hissing if I play it back on the phone, but the whirring/grinding noises only seem to occur via playback on a computer.

Is it likely I have a dud? Wondering whether it's worth taking it back, or if this is just a common place issue with them...
