MAD magazine to cease publication of new material

Big part of my childhood.

While my mom went grocery shopping, I'd sneak over to the magazine section and look for "Mad" or "Cracked" and laugh my ass off.

They would change titles of movies: "Apocalypse Now" became "A Crock of S*** Now" LOL.

I'll miss you Mad Magazine.

I think the first issue I read they were doing a piece on the original star Wars. I really got into it in the 80's
Another piece of my child hood soon to be gone for ever

Ha ha! Their parody names were so funny! I remember their Clodumbo for Columbo, and how it cracked me up.

My brother was a huge fan of the magazine; they were his copies that I'd read.

This feels like another chunk of my childhood being yanked away. I haven't existed in a world without MAD magazine... :(

With an older sister by four years, I was exposed to Mad magazines and books early. The first book I remember reading was Son Of Mad. I see it was first published in 1959 and that's likely when we first had a copy. Well written and super entertaining. I agree with everyone... most sad. Spy vs Spy... :)

Ah yeah Mad Magazine was a chunk of my adulthood, I remember and still see it in my grocery store oh about every other day, It is so sad to hear this news though. Always loved Spy vs. Spy, and yes I too agree with you, Mad TV did no justice, the cartoon was alright... Still it held no acutall humor compare to the comic.
