Magic 1.5 to OTA 1.5

Currently I am rooted and running the Magic rom. I would like to go to the OTA 1.5 for the G1 once it is released. I know how to update to it but willl I lose all my Data and Apps? If so, is there way to backup all my stuff for free?

You can follow the guide in my signature below to go from Root-2-Legit ..

However you will wipe all you apps and settings out and have to set them up again ..

I would recommend you Get MyBackups Pro ... this will backup all your APPS & Data so you can return all and all setting to exactly where you were ...

After completing all the steps of return to the Legit version so you can get OTA updates ... You will only have to go the market and RE-DOWNLOAD MyBackups Pro ... Run it and do the restore you saved ... and Viola !!! back like rooting never occurred ...

You can flash to any ROM-Build and keep Apps as long as you dont wipe ... but no guarantee they will work ... so best to Backup with :
My favorite app "MyBackup Pro" and save apps & data ..

Use it before Flashing then ...
Wipe the with the ALT+W in the Recovery Menu .. then flash new ROM builds and the appropriate radios ... Reboot

After flash ... you will Only have to download one app from the Market ..
"MyBackUp Pro" and run it to retore all apps, data, and phone settings as if no ROM change had been made ...
