Help magic box remote not working

I have a android tv magic box and it the remote works but when I hook the box in yhr basement I have to hit a button hundred times or more to get it to do what I want anyone else experience this

The remotes supplied with these boxes normally uses an IR transmitter, which have a limited range and require line-of-sight to the receiving device.

I tried putting the remote next to the box directly in line with it and still didn't work I move it upstairs an the remote worked fine could other system hooked up be interfering with it?

If the remote works when the devices are on different floors then it must use wifi, as IR can't penetrate solid surfaces such as walls an floors.

It's most likely using the 2.4GHz band, which is prone to interference from microwave ovens, cordless telephones, BT devices and a host of other things. All I can suggest is to experiment with the position of the tv box.
