Help Magnet in leather case

I keep my phones like gold. So I bought a leather case for my note, it has a magnet in it to keep it closed. Are magnets still bad to have right by the phone? I guess I could take them outwith exacto knife. HELP?

i have a case with a magnet in it. Hasnt broken my phone so you should be fine. I also have a nexus 7 with a magnet strip in it so when you have a case with a magnet and you open the flip case, the screen turns on automatically. Unless it's a strong magnet, i dont think they're gonna damage your device.

Only thing the magnet disrupts is when you're trying to use the pen. Gets a bit jumpy when you're near the edge of the screen where the magnet is located.

Yes, in theory, the S-Pen is vulnerable to magnetism, as is the built in compass function. But magnets won't affect anything else and flash memory is not going to be corrupted by a magnet. But for the first two reasons I avoided cases with magnetic clasps. You can easily check if yours is problematical.

I wrecked my Droid 3 with a magnet, but it was a super strong (although small, about the size of a shirt button) one meant for an eyeglass holder.

Dead pixels and strange functionality.

But those magnets on cases are nowhere near the strength of that type of magnet.

As above, i have a magnet leather case, have had it for a year now and works like a charm except the s pen wont mark on it

I meant that the pen won't mark on the area affected by the magnet, in this case a round "O" on the right middle side of the phone.
