Help mail notification

Does anyone know how to turn off the sound notification for mail? I keep going into the settings but its just giving me options to change the sound not stop it.

Did you go into settings - sound - volume and adjust the volume buttons there?

yes I did but there is no setting for just mail, if i lower the notification sound i wont hear my text alerts

In the email client, just press "menu", then "more", then "settings" and there should be "notification settings" there and you should be able to uncheck "notification sounds".

I can't find such option in Gmail. Does it exist? Thanks!

In the gmail app its the same thing. Open gmail tap menu-more - settings and scroll down to notification settings

This is driving me crazy! I used to have the option but for some reason it's disappeared! I have an HTC Inspire, and I'm using the official Yahoo App. When I go to menu the 'more option is no longer there. Arghhhh.
