Help mail setup help please

I am using the mail app that came with the phone to setup my optonline account. It will receive mail but will not send email. It is a POP account. It will only send email when I am in my house running off my wifi. But will not work when I am out. Can anyone please help me?

(That doesn't make sense that it works on wifi, but not on your 3G/4G - are you saying you can send/receive on wifi, but can only receive on 3G/4G?)

But do check your smtp settings - does your Email server need some special port (110/25/80 etc) to be used to send/receive Emails?

yes that is correct. The standard port wasn't working. I called my Service Provider and he suggested I try port 587 and that worked.
