Help Mail still showing despite no mail

I have all my mail read/deleted etc but the main mail icon is still showing a '1'. Any way to fix this? I tried turning it off/on no luck. Battery pull? Thanks.

have you tried killing the mail app with a task killer? a battery pull would essentially do this as well.

if that fails you might want to clear the cache for the app. I had to do this with gmail when it was having this problem.

I had this happen. I ended up deleting the widget on my home screen and then putting it back on my home screen and it no longer showed the new message indicator. Not sure why, but while talking with verizon support they were not sure of anything else to try.
