main differences to the Epic?

4G is kind of way off from now.. so even though our phones can't support it, it really is not a big deal.

Sprint's use of the term '4G' for the Epic & Evo is a lie. The WiMax technology in use (via ClearWire) is 3G technology. Although it is faster than Verizon's current technology, it will not be nearly as fast as the LTE technology Verizon will roll out over the next several years.

The Epic's internet speeds are faster than the Fascinate in Metro areas with WiMax, but considerably slower than the Fascinate in Sprint's vast roaming areas (where the Epic actually uses Verizon towers to roam on, but is not allowed to use Verizon 3G so only accesses the internet at 2G speeds).

True - I think their name for it is "marketing."

Also true.

While LTE is expected to be faster (I say that because these things always seem to be dependent on your city), there's already advanced versions of both WiMAX and LTE (the advanced LTE being _much_ faster).

Some would call those 3.5G and that's about true as any other description.

Most for now - and in the very near future - I kinda think 4G is a don't care - but that's just me personally.

As for the Samsung phones we're seeing everywhere - basically, they're Samsung Galaxy-class phones with (relatively) minor variations.

So far as I know, the Fascinate lacks an LTE radio.
