Accessories mains charger anyone used these?

am looking for a UK mains charger which needs to be longer than the supplied charger, and provide the full AC charge (not the usb / car charge reduced level).
you can find several micro usb mains chargers but i dont know which are compatible with the desire.
Anyone used and of these and have any comments(all from amazon):

You could purchase a longer standard USB lead (USB to microUSB) and use it with the HTC wall charger, does no harm.

But why don't you use a power extention lead from the wall power socket to the HTC charger?

have you seen the size of UK plugs! this is always a messy solution in the UK

The standard HTC cable has larger conductors than a standard USB cable and the charger has the data pins configured so the phone knows it is connected to a charger not a usb port.

There is no guarantee that any other charger will not be recognised as a USB port and even if it is if the conductors in the cable are standard USB size and of greater length than the usual cable resistance will be higher and performance will be reduced even using the standard charger.

I have been toying with the idea of getting a USB3 extension cable to try because I think the current rating on USB3 is greater

Maybe the electrical resistance of the USB conductor would be overestimated.

I looked up the typical copper wire of a 1.5m USB cable: About 0.1 Ohms.
With a "USB" current of 0.5A there will be a loose of 0.05V at the USB conductor.
With a "AC" current of 1A there will be a loose 0.1V at the USB conductor.
Assuming the charger delivers 5 Volts sharp, the phone will get 4.9V instead of 4.95V

So I think, the charger's output voltage must be much lower than 5V to get a bad charging.
And so it's would be more a failure of the charger than a bad conductor.

EDIT: I have to correct myself because I got the cable's resistance by the book.
Some times ago I have measured my 1.2m HTC USB cable, it has 0.5 Ohms !
The charger delivers 5.15 Volts (measured).
So the phone will get 4.65V (by 1A) instead of 4.90V (by 0.5A).
