Maintaining a Droid 3

I just got my D3 yesterday using my husband's upgrade, so we got a free one!

I'm wanting to know how to maintain this phone, since it's clearly different from the D1 that I've been using.

Main questions:

1) Will I need a task killer? I keep hearing mixed opinions about this certain subject, so I'm still unsure about it.. I used one on my D1 and had no problems, really.. I'd still like some opinions, though.

2) What's up with Force Closing running apps? Unlike the D1, when I force close running apps, a popup will come and say "Force closing will make an app misbehave" or something like that. Explaination, pleaseee?

Feel free to add anything else I could use to know about this phone. I'm very excited to see how it works! :)

Task killers are unnecessary, but that opinion changes from user to user. As for the warning, it's just there so you're aware. For example if you kill the gmail connection process your gmail won't sync. It's just a warning.

I haven't used a task killer since the early days with the Droid 1. I feel that they generally cause more problems than they solve. I wouldn't recommend a task killer for any android device honestly.

There are some pretty good tips in this thread: http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-3/376081-droid-3-tips-inside.html

A couple of other things that I have done. Download dolphin HD to use for your web browser. The default browser has un-removable bookmarks. I haven't use Dolphin for a while, but it is much simpler and useful than I remember.

Also, I am using K9 mail over the default application. It has more setup options and seems a bit more complete than the default.
