Help MAJOR Annoyance with Moment

So I've had my Samsung Moment on Sprint for 2 days now and a problem started happening today. Whenever I receive a text message, the phone goes black, locks, the ANDROID screen then displays and the phone goes back to normal but begins looking for service. I have no clue why this is happening but it's really annoying :\.

Sounds like a defective phone. Never once had that happen to me. Unless your saying it is in screen lock and lights up then goes back into screen lock?

The screen is locked and the phone lights up, the android screen appears, then screen lock reappears and I can unlock the phone.

This is not normal! Do you recall installing anything just before this began? If so try uninstalling. I'd also try a soft reset and/or pulling the battery. If that doesn't work, restore the phone to factory defaults. If all else fails, go to the store and get it replaced. Good luck!

I installed quite a bit of apps last night, two audio manakers, and some note taker. I deleted all three...so hopefully.

After uninstalling try the soft reset and see if you can get it to restore to factory defaults. Then see if it still occurs. Have you power cycled the phone since the uninstall?

I just uninstalled most of my third party apps, helf the red button power off and power on...hopefully this works.

Now if possible, can you reinstall, one by one, the apps you had and see if you can find out which one was causing the problem?

FYI, the FoxNews widget was causing problems for me. After installation, random apps began opening in the background (every app possible, ones that I have never opened). I would use an app killer, but different programs would open up again afterwards. Had to uninstal. Fixed the problem

Interesting. Kind of sounds like the good old Palm days where you troubleshoot one app at a time to figure out the rogue app.
