MAJOR error with updating the Note 3

So I've actually been getting this error for the past couple months, though I'm just now properly addressing it.

So I rooted my Note 3 a few months ago, and since then I've been getting an error every time I try to update my phone.

I should note that literally every morning, I get a prompt asking to update my phone.

Anyway, the error is:

"Software update unsuccessful: Sorry, there was a problem updating your SAMSUNG SM-N900V. No changes were made."

And that's that. My current Android version is 4.3

Anyone know what's going on here?

Don't update a rooted phone.... It might break root.

If you deleted or froze any files that may be the reason it won't update.

If you want to update you should restore the phone to stock in rooted. Plenty of threads around to tell you how.

I am mobile and can't search right now.

Keep in mind you might not be able to get root on an update.

1) Updates won't work on rooted phones. (Updates work on specific locations in storage. If you root the phone you might have moved something, so updating could brick the phone, so the update will cause itself to fail.)

2) 4.4.2 can't be rooted yet, so if root is important to you don't update. (If you're rooted you can freeze the updater app, so you won't be bothered rejecting an update that won't work anyway. Once someone achieves root you can unfreeze the app and update. Either Titanium paid or Link2SD will freeze apps.)

3) Verizon seems to be delaying the update for a little while. Probably some bloat they forgot to add.
