Help Major Faults on the Samsung Galaxy S2

I`m due an upgrade soon & just want your opinion.
I currently have a htc legend and I want to upgrade to either a samsung galaxy s2 or iphone 4. If it was you, which one would you go for?

Hi Guys. Like to know if anyone else is experiencing these major faults on this phone. (1)My reception jumps around now and then. The g/3g/H indicator will diappear from the top and be replaced with a circle with a line in it. When this happens i am not able to browse or make a call. (2)Also i get SOME calls going to voicemail despite full reception bars(similar to the fault on iphone 1/2/3/4). I have never experienced these problems on my previous Desire/Desire HD using the same carrier as i am on now(T-mobile UK). (3)My bluetooth headset goes funny now and then when i make or recieve a call. It does not respond and thus does not allow me to make or receive the call. I can't even use the phone at this time. i have to disconnect my the call. My headset is Jawbone Icon. (4)The phone overheats when playing games. I am thinking of rooting the phone to underclock back to the original 1ghz. (5)The battery is vulnerable when you start gaming on the phone. Again i think underclocking the phone could improve this. My phone is sim-free unbranded bought from carphone warehouse. I also have a few minor faults with it aswell. Weak WIFI signal. Yellow tint on left side of screen. And faulty 3.5mm jack. I still have a couple of days left to exchange it for a new handset. Would you advise this or not. I don't want to end up with an even faultier handset. I still absolutely love the handset. Please give me your expert opinions ASAP. Thanx in apprehension. P.S This is my first thread on this forum. So i would appreciate some help instead of childish behaviour i.e 'No more complaints' REPLIES. Just like the saying goes, IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY THEN KEEP SHUT.

You phone must be defective as I have now bought three SG2 units and ALL have worked without flaw. Nothing wrong with reception on 3G or WiFi.

You should not even be asking and should exchange it for another unit. If you have the same or simular problems with the next phone, you got to be OCD or very unlucky.

Just got me a GS2 and am not impressed, I have the wifi issue and add to that the same issues I had on the original GS, GPS is going by cell tower not GPS satellite, And rubbish cell reception. Thinking I shoulda went the HTC route.

The Wifi problem is quite frankly unforgivable imho.

I just upgraded from an N97 which, for all its faults (and there were a LOT), the Wifi was as solid as a rock.

Very unimpressed with the Wifi problem on the S2, I am going to do some more digging tomorrow to see if I can find anything useful on the matter.

One factor that doesn't seem to have been noted here is the type of router, as there are various types of Wifi transceiver, and the S2 might not like some of them

So I'll start
I have a Netgear DG834N running at 802.11n and WPA2-PSK.

I may tweak these settings to see if it yields a result.

A while ago, I was worried with Galaxy S2 and having both, deciding which to keep was difficult.
Until I got used to it, but now I have it sorted out and looking great in a Zenus Carbon case.
Compared to my iPhone 4, it's in a different league.
I kept the Galaxy S2 and can say I made the right choice.

I was in the same boat. My iPhone 4 is redundant now.

To add to the topic I've had non of the issues the OP mentioned. My wifi signal is strong.

Hi Paul, I just did exactly same as you - upgraded N97 (superb WIFI) to S2 (rubbish WIFI). Also using Netgear DG834. Did you manage to solve this?

hi, new to forum... purchased S2 20days back, things were fine, but started freezing often, did a factory reset... but still no relief.. one observation... most of the time phone was freezed when tried disconnecting or connecting wifi connection from notification bar.

any help.....plz
