Root Major Help Needed:

Lurker
Right guys, My phone is rooted and I put on the new ROM that has the Blue android with the blue ring spinning around which booted up. But then I tried to install the Gingerbread?? Version and the same blue droid came up with the ring spinning and spinning - never removed from this screen.

I got a little worried and went to restore (a backup before I did anything) and now it just stays on the white background and HTC logo in the middle - again worries I have tried a factory reset and it is still doing the same thing!!!

Has anyone got any ideas?!!?!

Thanks

Mike

Well, I am not entirely sure, but I would suspect that your ROM is now ruined as it was wrongly flashed, and that means your phone is wasted (unless you somehow know how to flash in a ROM without a functioning mainboard, but as you already have experienced, your reverting is not working). You could try send it in to HTC for repairs, but basically you would have to pay for all services they do to it, as you have lost warranty by flashing it (which would basically be paying for a new phone almost, as hardware probably needs to be changed out).

When you factory reset a phone, all you are doing is reverting the phone set up to what the ROM is flashed to. If you have flashed the phone, a factory reset does not help anything basically :(. This is why rooting and flashing ROMs is so risky. It it goes south, you are in trouble as you no longer have a working mainboard

Dont panic first off ure in a boot loop jus boot recevery do factory reset clear cache and dalvik cache and then flash watever rom or backup u want always wipe before flashin roms
