Help Major keyboard issue.

It appears to be happening intermittently but when I try to text someone, the keyboard will show and when I type, nothing shows up in the text box. The suggestions show up trying to tell me what word it thinks I'm spelling but it will not show up in the text box. There seems to be a disconnect between the keyboard and the text box. Its not just the texting app. It's any app that you can type into. The problem seems to go away when something happens, eg. get a new text, email, etc. Powering down the phone doesn't work all the time.
Have you guys heard of this? Any help would be appreciated. This happens with all keyboards I've tried so far, which are the stock multi-touch, swype, and slide it.

Try clearing the app data for your keyboard apps. Press Menu >Settings >Applications >Manage Applications, Press the All tab and scroll down to your keyboard app, press it and select "Clear data".

Thanks for the fast reply, I've done this and it doesn't help at all. I've also pulled the batter, restarted it, all that good stuff.

You could download a keyboard app from the market. Swift key x is what I use and it works good.

I have this same problem sometimes with FlexT9 keyboard. Sometimes the suggestions don't even show up. When that happens, I need to exit whatever app I'm trying to type in and go back into it, and usually that works after 1 or 2 tries. Sometimes it does show the suggestions, and I've found that if it shows them but nothing in the text box, if I hit the back button to close the keyboard, the text actually shows up. It's a weird issue, that's for sure!
