Help Major Problems with Reset

Well-Known Member
My phone started acting funny, email wouldn't work, facebook, etc... I looked up how to do a factory reset. I held down the volume down button and power, it gave me the option to factory reset. I selected that. It did it's thing. When it eventually came back on, my numbers were gone, email, etc... My screen was all the same. I tried to connect my email and got an Cannot connect to server and another error : 503 10102: LDAP lookup failed. It won't allow me to add the email, when in fact i was working up until the reset.
When I pulled up my market, all the previous apps started loading automatically. They reset was supposed to make the phone like it was when first powered on, but it definately did not do that. What am I doing wrong? How do I get all the apps and everything removed so the phone is literally like i had it when i took it out of box. OH, after the reset, it did update my software, so I don't know if that matters.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
after a factory reset you have to activate the phone *228 option 1.
and if you want the phone not to reinstall your apps automatically
there is a setting under settings, privacy then un-check "automatic restore"
I hope I understood your situation correctly and good luck

Hiya,
If you didn't get a complete stock reset yet,
pull out the battery, then replace battery.
Hold volume key down, then while continuing
to hold volume down, press and hold power button
until a boot menu shows up.
Choose Factory Reset and let it run.
Like previous poster says, activate it with *228 if
activation isn't demanded first. Enter your Google
user name where prompted, then go to Market and
restore all your stuff.
Should work perfectly.
