Help make keyboard smaller?

I got my tablet a couple of days ago and wanted to know if there was anyway of making the keyboard smaller?

im just finding it too big and when im posting on forums the whole keyboard covers what im writing so can not see what im writing.

is there another keyboard that i can download and use?

if so what would be the best one to use?

There's a number of keyboards that can be downloaded in Google Play store. I eventually settled on SwiftKey, mainly because it offers excellent backup support and can handle 3 languages as standard.

It is also scalable

There is a keyboard button in the lower right corner. If you press it, it will shrink the keyboard.

Bring up the keyboard and pinch your fingers on the keyboard and an option should appear for standard keyboard, floating keyboard (This may be the small keyboard that you are looking for) and a split keyboard!

try perfect keyboard(i use this on my s3), or swiftkey which i use on the tab, both very customisable
