Help Make LED blink?!

FirebirdStud

Why can't I find anywhere to make the LED blink at the top of the phone when I have a missed call or text? They built in the LED but no software to run it?
Please help. On the Vodafone network in the UK.
Cheers

You are lucky as my GS@ International has no LED on the front of the phone.:(

I bet yours does not either. The Nexus does:)

I was disappointed to find that the SGII doesn't have an LED, but I now use the app NoLED as a decent substitute.

i have NoLED installed along with handcent sms, however NoLED does not work with handcent when msg's are sent. works with missed calls.

Anyone know how to get NoLED working with handcent??

Haha not true. Look closely between the camera and the earpiece. There are two smaller holes.. One I assume is a light sensor and the other one is an LED! :)

I always thought that would LED too because I can't picture what else it could be. Can someone please clarify?

It turns the screen off when you put the phone up to your ear while calling someone and turns it back on when you move it away. A good idea if you have long conversations with people as the screen is the major drain on the battery.

You can end an in-coming call quickly by flipping the phone over on its front, over a surface... Another use for the proximity sensor.

And it actually does emit a light during a call, just outside our viewing spectrum, although you can just about see it in low light levels.

:D

i was also in the hunt for a LED replacing app for my SGS2. it would have been really nice if the SGS2 had an inbulit LED too. its so useful

i have installed NOLED app. seems quite good so far. option customising the icons seems to be missing. one thing to see is how much it consumes the battery.
are there any other apps in the similar category as NOLED.

Handcent notifications seems to work even without the default android lock screen activated.
but the missed call notifications dont seem to be shown if the lock is disabled. wish there was a way around it too
