So my gf just got a Motorola Droid and I'm not used to the Droid features. Is there a way to make the ringer stop ringing when you touch the screen? Or an app you can download to make this happen?
There is nothing that I know of that can accomplish this other than using Handcent SMS - Android app on AppBrain and then setting it so that it activates the screen when she/you get(s) a new text message.
Also, there are quite a few alert ringtones that are very short in length (just a couple seconds or less) that you could use and then you won't have a full length ringtone going off just for a notification. Check out Ringdroid - Android app on AppBrain , it is a very handy app that can turn your music into ringtones. You can choose how long you want to make each ringtone and where in the song you want to cut your ringtone from. It works with all formats except .wma (as far as I know). I know that I have used it with .mp3 and Apple's formats.
I have made a lot of ringtones and a few 1-2 second notification tones.
