Root Make Verizon's 3G Hotspot App Free?

I figured since the phone is now rooted that someone can hack the app so that it can be made to work without paying the $20 fee? I'd prefer this over the regular wifi tethering app.

Unless there's a really compelling reason to do it, I doubt it will ever happen, that is, if it is even possible.

I just like the setup and interface a lot more. And the fact that there are no limitations for network names.

OK, previously tethering with my LG voyager but after root on the DX is there any way to use it as a mobile wifi hot spot for 5 users as advertised? Without the fee. This would be helpful in some circumstances. If with root we can tether to a single laptop either with usb cable or bluetooth I'm good.
