Making the leap to Cm10. Having problems.

Ok. So i followed guyphs' "F29 root achieved!"post and followed his posted links to get the cwm and cm10 zip that i needed for this switching of roms. I have agat 054, so i went there, at that point (wasnt positive i needed to), i wiped all the data, cache, and dalvik. I.then proceeded to flash cwm. Flashed over np, i rebooted to recovery, which then brought me from agat to cwm. From there, i wiped everything again. Then proceeded to install cm10 zip. Two seconds into it, the little android man falls on his back and its.saying.that the.upgrade failed. Can amyone tell if im doing something wrong anywhere in that process?

I figured maybe because i didnt.download the cm zip from my computer and i instead used my phone, maybe i got a.corrupt download?

I just restored my old nandroid np.

Also, i need to restore apps.with titanium backup when i do get.flashed over to cm10. do i need the app on my external sd card or will it.get pulled up in cm10 once im there if its on my internal sd card? I need the task manager and voicemail and others.

Yeah that's what I did.

1. Flash agat kernel via Odin. Let system update
2. But into cmw. Factory reset
Clear chache clear dalvik
3. Flash the 41... kernel
4. Reboot recover.. do not reboot phone... reboot recovery
5. Factory reset/ Lear chache clear dalvik
6. Flash zip of cm10
7. Flash jgabbs
8. Reboot enjoy
 
Ok just got done running it (with no success, as expected) so that i could write the code down.

So i opened agat recovery mode and wiped data, cache, and dalvik. Then i flashed.the cwm from the link in your "F29 root achieved" post that included cm10 installation. Sooo....

When i flashed the file for the.new kernal, while still in agat, it says:
Chris41g..brings you...........
41g kernel beta aosp/cm9/aokp/gummy.....

Complete.

Then i rebooted recovery which brought me from agat to cwm.

Its cwm based recovery v 6.0.1.2

Oncethere, i performed all wipes again. Then selected to install the cm10 zip.
In a matter of a second from the time i click YES to install the rom, this happens:

Installing:/sdcard/cm-10-20120903-unofficial-d710.zip
Finding update package
Opening update package
E: cant open /sdcard/cm-10-20120903-unofficial-d710.zip (bad)

Installation aborted.

Is the (bad) part why its not working?

Try opening the cm 10 zip on your computer. Can you open it and see what is inside? If not, you have a bad zip and you need to redownload. That's what I'd bet.
 
Yup. We were both right. Corrupt file from bad download. The first time I downloaded it it was short on data. I downloaded it a second time but essentially never applied the good download in the right place. I'm on cm10 finally. Its sweet too. Real sweet
