Root Making your own rom?

I am a competent linux user and have been flashing roms and tweaking my phone for a while now and I was wondering if I should develop my own rom. There seem to be plenty of guides on making your own rom around the internet.

Would anyone be interested in me making a tweaked for speed, vanilla ICS style ROM?
 
Go ahead :) I wanna see how your Rom goes I'm on midnightrom I was on mobstersrom because of the project butter tweak and other good tweaks it had but I switch to midnight Rom but I wanna see how yours goes :)
 
Mobster ROM is a nearly perfect "tweaked for speed, vanilla ICS style ROM". But there are still some remnants of Sense in there. If you can make something better, then by all means :D

I'm using CM10 now (even though giving up 3D was difficult) because Jelly Bean is so worth it. Plus I'm confident that someone will get 3D working in the future. Or I'll get another phone, whichever comes first.

For the time being, the only option for perfect stability and full functionality is Sense-based ROMs. So if you can make something that looks identical to AOSP, has all functionality of Sense, and doesn't feel like a weird hybrid between the two, I don't think anyone would complain.
 
I know Mobster Rom is similar to what I'm going for, in fact i was using it until mobster stopped developing it, he never got rid of all elements of sense. And I'm tempted to make a similar Rom (I know of a few inefficiencies with his) but faster and hopefully better as I will try to make improvements as I find things to improve
 
I know when I had the Triumph, Tickerguy started a ROM which Whysor, took over and was then passed on to g60madman.
Perhaps Mobster would give you the go ahead to keep developing his ROM with the freedom to refine/define OR like Punkmaxx have a varient.
Just a thought to save starting from scratch.

I'm using mobster on the latest anthrax kernal, but its missing the ps3 drivers and some tweaks( sd 4ext speed) from midnight. If you could combine all these it would be awesome. I would also love to see a experimental cm10/sense 4.1 rom. These on dual boot would be awesome! Lol :)

That will only ever work from a stock based rom.

CM, MIUI, AOKP and such are all universal roms, meant to run on any number of phones from various carriers. Diagnostic modes would overlap, causing issues, but also cause the roms to balloon out of control (especially if implemented in a stock sort of way).
 
Hmm Leslie Anne seems to be following me, making Harmonia for first my LG-OV and now my Evo :P

In other news I've started playing with roms and learning about how to change them

So its impossible take all dm modes off except the VM stock for a evo v tailored rom?
