What does the check mark in the box (circled in red) mean?

This is an AT&T Radiant (ZTE Z740) phone, if that makes any difference. Android OS 4.1.2 - the latest for this phone.

I believe that means that they have been moved (checked) vs. the ones that can be moved that haven't yet been moved (un-checked).

Thanks. I think I remember reading something like that before, maybe even from the web page you referenced, but I didn't understand what it meant. Since the column is headed "On SD Card" I assumed it meant that those apps in the column (a fairly short list) had been moved to the card or installed there. Looking at it again with your explanation, what it means is that those is that column could be moved to the SD card but if not checked, haven't yet been moved.

Like everyone else, I'm trying to make more space on the phone's internal memory, which is a pretty skimpy 2 GB. The ones that are unchecked show a size of 0.00B. so I figured that moving them wouldn't get me any more space where I wanted it. I noticed the app referenced at the top of this forum, Storage Truth or something like that. Perhaps I'll give that a try and see if it tells me that there are more apps that I can move that will get me what I want. I understand that many pre-installed apps that I never use can't be moved to the SD card or deleted without rooting the phone, and I'm a bit skittish about doing that.

No worries...and Storage Truth is a just a quick glance at the two places where apps (proper) live: your /system partition where system apps (and bloatware :p) live and the /data partition where your user apps live.

Keep in mind that even moving apps to your SD card, the "home" directory for an app's data is still in the /data/data folder which includes an app's cache and other files it might create/use, so you're not going to see as big as a bang for your buck when moving an app to the SD card as one would hope--but sometimes that's enough to help get you over a hump of limited installation space.

Cheers!

Pretty stingy with my home screen realestate, but I always keep my gallery widget, with pics of my daughters, running. Couple of others will not function when the associated apps are on the SD card. It's not a deal breaker though. Still, got some of them moved w/o problems.
