I downloaded MAP QUEST. On the market place and I noticed that this app has a fast GPS lock rather than Google maps. Please guys try this out and tell me if this work for ya.
 
My GPS lock is usually near instantaneous already. So, I'm not the best guinea pig for this, sorry.
