Help Maps Navigation exits with warning or error

Hi all,

I've been having an issue with the Maps navigation. Within the past month, I've been noticing that whenever I make the final turn towards my destination, the maps app will all of the sudden kill itself with no error to tell me what went wrong. This was annoying, but tolerable. As I was already at my destination and no longer needed navigation. However then I took a road trip and noticed that it would do the same thing every 10 minutes or so as I drove down the interstate.

My best guess is that it's dying when it changes onto a new tile, but without error messages, it is really hard to diagnose. Has anyone else seen anything like this and/or know how to fix it?

I use Maps all the time, but in a limited area of about 15-20 miles most of the time, and have never seen that. Once it starts, it works (sort of - it doesn't always pick a sane route, but it's never had me riding around in a parking lot, which my old Garmin did once).

My only complaint with it is the UX. Putting in a destination I'm not at isn't easy, and finding one I've been to is even worse. But MyDirections takes care of all that (Google should buy the app and incorporate it into Maps).

Try installing Maps from the Play store. If there's an update, that may cure the problem.

Yeah uninstalling and reinstalling the updates doesn't help. The app is still temperamental.

I did test it yesterday, in a 4G area just to be sure that the data speed was not an issue and it it still failed about halfway to our destination.
