Maps Not Responding - MAPSServiceSamsung has stopped

Hi all,

We have a Samsung Galaxy S2 9100 and the google maps app crashes all the time all of a sudden. The message we get is MAPSServiceSamsung has stopped

Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling app Software is up to date

Has anyone had this issue and found a fix for it?

Hi there and welcome to the site :hello: !

While I am not totally familiar with your device, I have a couple of ideas.

Go in your settings to applications -> all and find the google maps app. Select it and then clear data and cache for it. Then reboot your phone.

If that doesn't work, you might have to do a factory data reset which depending on which Android version your phone is running it can be in different locations within the settings menu system. Though it will wipe out all your apps and such, it will heal most all that ails your phone.

On my Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.1.2 it is under system settings -> personal -> backup & reset.

had this problem when I went to ICS. Had to factory reset for it to go away.
