Help "Maps" process eatting my battery.

Daggaroth

Hi all,

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy Note II and I am loving it, but after some unknown update my maps process is eatting the battery so it will go from 100% to completely dead in 6 or 7 hours when I am not using it for much more then the odd email update or whatnot. I checked my battery settings and it said that the maps was using 52% of the battery. I am fairly new to smartphones so im not sure what small tweaks or whatnot I could do but I would like to figure this out so I can go a full day again without having to worry about my phone dying on me.

any help would be appreciated.

Long press menu button to bring up the multitasking panel. Bottom left corner will be a pie chart icon, which shows active apps. Click it and then 'end' maps.
