Help Maps search error

I'm running 2.2.1 on Velocity 1.0
Whenever I open maps and try to search for something, be it an address or an actual search, it gives me a toast saying, "Serious error. Please exit and try again." I get this every time and it's starting to get a little annoying that I can't use maps for finding places. Everything else works just fine, it's just the search.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Uninstall and reinstall from market

That seems to have fixed it.
