Maps Update

I use Appbrain for updating apps. Maps updated yesterday (to 5.11), but I still show "Maps" on top saying it needs an update, and also shows in the apps list as "Maps Update 5.11". I hit the update again, and seems to reinstall, but still remains on the top ready to update list (after syncing). Anyone else have this glitch? Market shows it as updated.

I am rooted with Maps Link2SD. Maybe Appbrain thinks default VM "Maps" is a separate app to "Maps Update"?

Funny, mine too (not rooted). I imagine it will sort itself out soon, if not one can always "skip this update" - that moves it down from the pending list.

Mine downloads but fails during install.

"Installation error. Package file is invalid"

Whatever that means

I suspect it probably is one of those bugs with the current Market app itself. I've noticed these odd misbehaviors too in both stock and rooted OVs--e.g., updated an app but still showing an app requires updating, notification of an update but unavailable when try to update, or after updating a pre-installed sys app, the list of all the downloaded apps is wrong. I find that deleting the Market data, force closing Market, and then re-starting Market, tends to clear these types of problem. HTH...
