I have a Motorola X running KitKat 4.4.
I get many emails, some of which, after reading on my phone, I'd like to mark as unread so I know i need to deal with it later. Any way to do this?

Yeah, I don't see how to do this from the mobile version of Gmail app itself.

If it is indeed Gmail that you are asking about, sign-in to Gmail from the browser (mail.google.com) to launch the mobile browser version of Gmail. From there, you'll be able to mark/tag the emails that you want to be marked as unread (there's a little up-arrow symbol at the bottom of the page that shows more options when you select it--make sure you've checked the threads/emails that you wish the function to operate on before selecting the "Mark as unread" option).

In the gmail app, when reading an email, if you tap the Envelope icon (to the right of the Bin icon), it will change the email to Unread.

In my stock mail app 'Mark unread' is an option in Menu.

:)

Oh, wonderful tip, tommo47! :)

You can indeed do this in the Gmail app on a single message and if you mark/tag a whole series of multiple emails on the mail screen, tapping the envelope on the icon bar at the top right side does mark those as unread.

Wasn't intuitive to me at all but very happy you were smart enough to figure that out :).

Thank you!
