Help Mark on screen.

I have recently discovered a weird mark on the screen on my DHD. I can only describe it as a similar mark as when oil mixes with water on the side of the road and goes multi-coloured. It disappears when i apply pressure and when i first discovered it, it disappeared and then re-appeared and hasn't gone since.

Any ideas?

Thanks! :)

How should I go about getting this fixed? Take it back to tesco mobile (unrooted of course) and just get a new phone entirely?

Have you got it wet at all? Are the water damage indicators red/pink? They're under the battery cover and SIM card cover. They should be black with the word void on them other wise.

Providing they're still black, they should accept it no problem.

Thanks, how do i flash stock rom?

and i can't find the S-OFF file?

If you go here you should be able to download the s-off/s-on tool.

Flashing a stock ROM is done by using an RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility) - just putting a link in to the sticky to get to the RUU's (thanks... hadn't realised that I'd not included it) - here it is, so you don't have to go looking for it! :)

RUU's flash back to how the phone was pre-root... you would have to run an RUU to downgrade your phone and the use visionary to temp root and use the s-off/s-on tool to put the phone back to s-on before running the correct RUU to put your phone back to stock.

You would need to use the correct RUU for your phone... as in, if it was Orange branded before, you would have to use the Orange Branded RUU.

I've never used an RUU though, so can't give you a lot of advice on it!

Froyo was the last version of Android (2.2.X) and Gingerbread is the current one (2.3.X).

When you turned your phone on, did it have any Tesco branding on it... I mean did it say "Tesco" or "Tesco Mobile" or anything like that when it was starting up? If not, then it was unbranded.

I would guess so!

Did you have any apps on your phone that were preinstalled (that you couldn't remove from your phone without rooting)? That's another thing that would usually mean that the phone was branded!
