Help Market access issues

Just want to confirm a few things. You cannot get on the market without a data plan correct? I don't seem to be able to. Without getting in the market, you can't root the phone using KSmithInNY's method? Without rooting, you can't get rid of the stupid factory apps? Last but not least, does anyone get a slight electric arc sound when you press a button on the dialer? It is usually the first button I press(any button) then will not do it again until I close & reopen the dialer. Thanks in advance for any help. I about to do unmentionable things to this phone & go back to my lowly Gravity T.

You should be able to get on the Market without a data plan as long as you have Wifi working. You will not be able to get on the Market without a Google account though.

I have a google account. I will find a wifi hotspot. Thanks.
