I am super new, and probably shouldnt be messing around with this stuff, but it is an old phone and I thought Id play around with it. Surprisingly I was finally able to go back to 2.0.1 or what ever and rooted with the all things root for windows directions on this forum. Then I flashed cynogenmod, but Im unable to get to the android market, this is a phone that doesnt have any phone number attached to it. Im just using the wifi, not sure if that matters, Im just not able to use the market anymore. I tried to follow another threads instructions, but I got stuck when it said to move the market .apk and .odex to the sd card, the .apk is already in the sd card, and Im not seeing anything .odex  where would I find the .odex did i miss something? does something need to be installed that i missed? Also I tried to do a backup and everything looks the same haha i know sorry to ramble

With Cyanogenmod rom, you don't need the .odex file at all.

The simple (and best) thing to do is make sure you have flashed the gapps package that goes with your version of Cyanogenmod. That is why you don't have market.

good luck

alright I have the gapps package now what do i do? Maybe i didnt flash it right? ive got astro file manager now, and gapps is on the sd card, is that right? thank you so much for any information :)

What you'll want to do is reflash your Cyanogenmod (CM) rom and then right afterwards without booting into regular android, flash the gapps package.

good luck

p.s. just for kicks please let us know exactly which CM rom and exactly which gapps package as well. And please don't just reply 'the latest one'.

thx

so im using cm7 and i think the gapps i have says gb-20110828... sooo i dont know if that answers your question as far as what i am using. that did get the market to work though and so now im off to figure out what fun things i can do w/ my phone being rooted and decide if i want to root my rezound or not.... thank you sooo much for the help!!! :)
