Help Market help please. Tried almost everything

Lurker
I'm using an HTC Inspire 4G. I recently rooted it and flashed Cyanogenmod 7. Everything was working fine and I was able to download apps like normal. Then all of a sudden the market wouldn't work anymore. Every time I try to get a new app, it doesn't even show the download icon in the notification bar and after a few seconds, it gives me the failed download message. I looked online at all the "fixes" and none of them work. I've tried clearing the cache and data of the market and download manager. I've tried re-installing the vending.apk. I can't even delete my old vending.apk. I have root privileges and have tried using several different root explorers but none of them are able to alter the system/app/vending.apk that I need them to. I've tried flashing different roms. I've tried installing all the google talk apps that I supposedly need to use the market. I've even done a factory hard reset to the original rom. Nothing works. I can still download apps from the market website on my phone's web browser though (except on Cyanogen because it reroutes me to the market app and doesn't give me the option to open the download links in the browser). Bottom line is that my market app won't download apps even though I have tried every fix I found on the internet. I have re-linked my gmail to my market app and re-accepted the terms and conditions and cleared so many caches and data, it isn't funny anymore. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my market? How can I remove the vending.apk that refuses to budge. Perhaps terminal emulator can remove it? Any help would be much appreciated.
