I've noticed that I get notifications for available updates but when I go into the market it doesn't show that any updates are available. Also, I'm thinking up installing the latest version of sapphire. Do I need to backup and wipe to do so? I'm running bb 0.4
 
Do you get the update notifications right after you have updated an app? Sometimes they are a bit delayed.

In regards to backup/wipe, I'd tend to make a backup every 15 days or so JIC. And it's my philosophy to wipe data and cache every time between different ROMs. I generally won't wipe, however, between just updating ROM versions (i.e. going from BBv0.3 to BBv0.4).
 
Well this morning I had the notification that 4 updates were available. I've been periodically checking the market to see what they are but nothing shows up. That was several hours ago
