Help Market Phantom Install

I was installing some apps from the market last night and all was going well until one application got stuck. The Market shows it as installing but nothing is happeining. The Market still seems to function to load other apps but I have tried pulling the battery, cleaning the cache etc and no matter what I do whe I go back to the downloads page the install on this app is still in progress. The Captivate is not rooted and I am not really keen on a hard reset as I have lots of apps and data. Any ideas from you pros out there?
 
For others who may have a similar issue I went into settings applications Market and then removed updates. It then reverted the Market back to factory issue and you have to approve and sigh in again. When I did all was good!
