Help Market problem

When I go to My Apps in the Market several apps that have updates give me a ' The requested item cannot be found' error when I tap on them. I have cleared the Dalvik cache, cleared the Market cache and run Cache Cleaner. No luck. This is weird. I also can't install iBirds Lite. ' Invalid package file' followed by ' The requested item could not be found'. And Google Maps won't update even after I search for it. Same errors.

Is this on xtrROM or something else?

Sometimes the market acts up, but if it isn't fixed by now you can try

settings->applications->manage applications
Find and tap on Market
Look for a button called "uninstall updates" and try tapping that.

That happened to me once on some ROM (actually, it may have been xtr) and uninstalling updates fixed it.

That seems to have helped. Maps still won't update but iBirds installed. Odd to be back to the ancient Market. Yes, I'm on xtrROM.

* Market updated itself and the problems are back. :(

FWIW, I am not having that problem on xtrSENSE. Remember that you can install the launcher of your choice and not run Sense if you wish on xtrSENSE...

I've been running xtrROM for months. Odd that this problem just showed up last week. Thanks for the reminder about xtrSENSE.

It's the network!!! Are you using T-Mobile or a provider which 'piggybacks' off T-Mobile like Orange? Switch to WiFi and turn off the mobile network and you will probably find the updates run OK...

Thanks for that theory. Since the Eris is a CDMA device that runs only on Verizon Wireless, that was not the issue in this case. Perhaps it will be helpful for others searching for solutions, though.
