Help Market problems driving me crazy!!

Hello,

I know what you're thinking -- another idiot who can't get the Market working. There's tons of information out there on this issue. I know, and I'm sorry but I need some help here. The situation:

1. Had a working Droid X, rooted with Z4. Running the latest OTA. Been working great for many months now.
2. Decided to try a custom rom - chose Apex 1.4.1
3. Performed full backup with Titanium Pro and did a Clockwork Mod backup as well
4. Installed Apex 1.4.1 with Clockwork mod recovery. Seemed to go well.
5. Booted into Apex, set up Google accounts, went to market to download Titanium for restore.
6. Market starts downloading tons of apps that I used to have. I let it work for a while, and it did work. Eventually it started throwing "Download was unsuccessful, please try again" errors but only after downloading several apps. I never got Titanium. Every time I go back into the market to download anything, I just get a "Download was unsuccessful, please try again."

Wih plenty of googling, here's what I've tried to fix it, in this order, I think:
- rebooted with battery pull
- changed from 3g to wifi to 3g to wifi to 3g, etc, etc...
- went to settings -> applications and cleared data/cache for market, downloader, google apps, chat, etc.
- uninstalled market updates
- signed out of and in to google chat
- unmounted sd card
- rebooted with no sd card in the phone
- deleted .android_secure folder. it was empty anyway as i never used appstosd
- settings -> privacy -> factory data reset
- installed clockwork mod from an apk, booted recovery and restored my backup, which didn't really restore everything like i expected it too. maybe i screwed this step up....
- sbf flashed back to VRZ_MB810_2.3.34 followed by another factory reset from the stock recovery console.

and probably other things along the way I read online and tried. And after every step, the same errors from the market. It never installed another app after those few early after installed Apex. I've been working at this all fscking day. My market just doesn't work any more. What else can I do? Can anybody help me?

Thanks,

I honestly don't have a clue. Thus I am going to say some of the most thought out bullshit you have ever read, hopefully.
1. Is there a problem with your account? Could you possibly be able to login to your Market on a different phone?
2. Are you able to use 3G to download from websites in general, or just not the market?
3. Holy shit lets get the geniuses in here!

1. My account seems fine. The market knows which apps I've purchased so I guess the history is there somewhere. Also, I can log in at market.android.com from any web browser. Interestingly (relevantly?), many apps show as installed from the web portal that aren't actually on my device since I've wiped and reinstalled. The market app doesn't make the same mistake. If I try to install an app from the web portal, it works fine. The app does get pushed to my phone.

2. Yep, the network is fine. 3G or wifi, I've got no problems with connectivity.

3. Yes, please!

Thanks for your thoughts and I am at least able to install apps by pushing them from market.android.com. But I'd really like to figure out why the market app fails.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I've got mine working again. After 'Thats' suggested that it could be an account problem, I logged in to market.android.com to check. That's when it occurred to me to try pushing an app to the phone, which worked just fine. So I reinstalled Apex, which was the entire goal anyway, pushed Titanium backup from the internet market, and ran a full restore from my backup.

After that the market worked fine, so I'm sure I had a corrupted file somewhere too, but it baffles me that flashing the sbf didn't even fix it. One thing's for damn sure out of all this -- I'll never be without a backup.

Thanks again,

I had the same problem with unsuccessfully downloading apps after the first time I flashed the rooted GB, but mine was cleared up with a sbf flash. glad you got it working again. Good idea to push TIBU through the internet site.

Had the same problem on a non-rooted phone but, after a couple days it seemed to take care of it self, thank god.

My issue is almost identical to this. I rooted my phone because I needed a decent backup solution when I factory reset my phone. I have factory reset my phone 3 times today. The first couple times apps were actually downloading, it just was trying to download 144 at the same time. After a while they simply stopped and now I get the download unsuccessful message.

Just like you, I can send apps to my phone from the android marketplace website but I can't send apps it sees as already installed. I can't force-reinstall them. I did restore from titanium backup so I have my apps back but I can't update any of them whatsoever.

I have tried everything on the list in the first message too and in addition I called *228 on Verizon as suggested by someone to update my "roaming capabilities" and that didn't help either.

I am at a complete losss.

One thing I notice everyone says to reset cache for "Google Apps" under the applications->Manage Applications. But I don't have anything like this app on my phone. I have many individual Google apps but not one that says "Google Apps" I have reset almost every app I can think of. I am considering going through every app and just clearing the cache on every single one.
