Root Market troubles

Ok, here is a new one to me. Starting yesterday, anytime I go onto the market on my computer, it tells me there are no devices with my account. But yet I can download apps just fine with my phone using the market app.

I called google and they told me since my phone has been rooted and ROMed that it will give me trouble with the market and they last time they show my phone downloading any app was back in Aug. I have downloaded many apps since then so I am not sure what is up with that.

They told me to restore my phone to factory specs including the version of android that came with the phone from Verizon.

Anyone else had this trouble? Do I really have to SBF back to .602 and re-register the device to fix this problem?

so what problems are you having other than it not showing up on the market on your computer?

You can still download apps from your phone right?

What RoM are you running?

Why would you tell google your rooted and rom'ed?

I'm running Liberty 3 2.0. They asked if I had done anything to my phone and I said no, but they told me that the detected something different on my phone, (wouldn't tell me what or how they knew) but they said I had to reinstall the version of android that my phone came with otherwise it wouldn't fix itself. They told me that the last app they have a record of me downloading was in Aug, and that was when I ROMed my phone.

Yes, I can download apps from my phone just fine. But if I use my computer to surf the market and then try to install it told me that there was no device installed.

Edit: I don't know what else to say but, it fixed it. I SBFed back to stock and rerooted and reinstalled Liberty and my market on my computer shows my X again.

This seems fishy to me. My DX is running CM7 on GB and just today I had to use the Market on my PC to get the discount upgrade for eWallet, because the Market on the DX would just sit there and say "loading" forever. It worked just fine on the PC, and in fact asked on which of my devices I wanted to install the eWallet app, letting me choose between my LG Ally or the DX. Both have been rooted and ROMed for some time now.

I hope whatever they were doing to you is not some "new feature" they are going to screw us with. It's bad enough they can pull apps from our phones. I certainly wouldn't want them to start refusing to let us access the Market if we are rooted and running a custom ROM. If they tried that, I think the customer rebellion would be very significant. Hopefully that would matter.
