Wasn't there an app for the nook that added soft buttons to the bottom of the screen to act as a home key, etc? I'd imagine that it would end up working on the Fire also.

Soft keys, plus one of the root methods added different ones as well, something with a 'Z' launcher... argh, cant remember now
