[SOLVED MY WIFI CALLING PROBLEM] with a little help from a friendly Verizon Tech on the phone.
Here's what he had me do:
- Had me go thru the steps I said above, trying to activate.
- Restarted phone with no changes.
- Turn off WiFi, Turn on Wifi, try again with no change.
Here's where it fixed it:
- Make sure you have your WiFi Password handy
- Went to System Settings > Backup and reset (sounds scary, I know) > Reset
NETWORK settings (you will be prompted for your password if you use one) > A Reset Settings button pops up then which you click on.
- Restart Phone
- Re-enter WiFi password when connecting
- Went to System Settings > Advanced Calling - Then I had 3 choices instead of 2 and none grayed out this time.
- Clicked on the 2nd choice Advanced Calling > make sure HD Voice and Video Calling is chosen then back out
- Click on WiFi Calling > Enter your Emergency Address and
voilà it works!
I think he may have had me restart my phone again and check those settings but I'm not sure.
I was able to test making a WiFi call by turning on Airplane Mode then turning on WiFi and making a call.
NOTE: NO INFORMATION IS LOST DOING THE RESET
NETWORK SETTINGS. YOU JUST HAVE TO RE-ENTER YOUR WIFI PASSWORDS AND RE-PAIR BLUETHOOTH DEVICES WHEN DONE.
This may help our friend "CANESFAN" with the voice talking on his bluetooth saying recheck network settings - I would try it.
Anyways Done!!!
