Help Mass storage problem.

My phone only charges when I connect it to my laptop. It used to give me a mass storage option but it doesn't anymore. I tried using the debugging thing but that didn't help me any. Can someone help me figure out the problem please?

Have you tried a different USB cable and different USB port?

tried both ports...I'll try a different cable next. I'll update if it doesn't work.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers. Sometimes they go a little haywire

how do I do that?

I can't get to my PC to remember step by step, but I believe you go to device manager and find it, uninstall it and when you plug your phone back in it will redownload the drivers.
You can probably find a guide on xda forums if you Google it.

What operating system you using?

I am using Windows 7 on a Lenovo Thinkpad T400.

Open start menu>right click computer>manage>device manager>look for a yellow triangle warning sign and tell me what it is

With the phone plugged into a usb

Wow. The most basic thing to do in a case like this, and I missed it. I came here looking for this very solution. After nearly 20 yrs in the IT field, I hang my head in shame.
