Help massive lag when syncing

Hi,

When syncing, my EVO's response time goes down by 3-5seconds. It's as if the CPU usage is going from 5% to 100%.

How do I identify the culprit of the problem, and what is the solution?
Under "Accounts and Sync" I only have Google and Weather selected to sync...

I don't remember my phone lagging like this a few weeks ago, so I doubt this is normal behavior.

Watsapp is the only one I installed since it started lagging (or I think, at least), but it's not listed under sync.

Is there a way to find out what exactly is syncing?
