Help May have deleted stock calendar app. Need help to re-install.

I think I deleted the wrong Calendar app. I deleted the Calendar app with the blue icon and kept the Calendar app with the red icon. I'm thinking this because the Calendar app I have will not let me add other calendars from my google calendar. My friend has a rooted EVO CM7 and has a calendar app that looks similar to the one I deleted. On that phone you can easily add other calendars. So my question is, did I screw this one up? Can I somehow reinstall the Calendar app that I deleted? (Yes this is my first Android phone, so I'm still learning).

No worries, you're going to be squared away.

The stock apps you can't delete and any others you can snag again from the Market.

They really borked this version of the stock calendar, it's not as good as it was before. Adding Google calendars to it is buggy, it's not you.

I think you simply deleted the widget. Long press on the blank spot where the calendar was and choose Widget - looks for the blue calendar there.

If you had another calendar installed, you could have deleted it.

Search calendars in the Market, maybe one will ring a bell.

Either way, you can get back what you want.

Hmmm. Ok, so the "blue" calendar is available as a widget like you said. I actually have 2 calendar widgets: The red one labeled HTC and the blue one labeled Android. So I added the blue Android Calendar widget. Everything was looking good at this point. When I clicked the blue Android Calendar widget on one of my home screens, I was taken to what I presume is the HTC Calendar app anyway (maybe I'm wrong here and the Calendar I am opening is stock and it just doesn't have all the options of the old Calendar app). The problem with this is I cannot add my "Other Calendars" that are in my google calendars account. With the stock app you can click Menu -> Other -> Calendars to add the "Other Calendars" that are in your google calendar account. No such luck in this Calendar app.

The only thing I've found in the Market that looks similar is Calendar Plus by James Peterson and it's an extension of the stock Calendar. It's $1, but it may solve my problem. However, I'd rather just have the stock calendar for free if it all possible. Should I just spring for this app, or do I have any more options? Thanks.

So it seems that this may be a problem with the Calendar app in Gingerbread. All I want to do is to be able to also view my Other Calendars in addition to my main calendar. See this thread: Issues with calendar in gingerbread - xda-developers

I've also read other people have been able to add the Other Calendars by menu->more->calendars and then selecting the calendars they want to also show up. The problem is there is no "more" option when you press menu.

I was able to solve my problem. So for anyone that is having trouble viewing their "Other Calendars" in their google calendar, follow these directions:

1. Go to the Market and download "Business Calendar Free" by Mikado Software Free
2. Open Business Calendar Free
3. Press menu -> more -> calendars
4. Check the box next to any calendars under Other Calendars (I also pressed the arrow up key to put them in my "Favorites"
5. Save
6. Verify the calendars all show up in Business Calendar Free app
7. Close Business Calendar Free app
8. Open the Calendar app that came installed with your EVO 3D
9. You should see all the calendars in your Calendar app now

Hope this helps someone else. It seems that the menu -> more -> calendars option is not part of the Calendar app that comes with the EVO 3D.

Try clearing data from settings, Applications, Calendar.

Then re-open. More is now the down arrow on the top bar.

I had this same issue, that helped.

I had tried this, but not all my calendars were available using the down arrow on the top bar. My previous post seems to be the only thing that helped me get all my calendars.
