Verizon's possibly being douc*e bags and slowing 4G down! Avoid as long as you can!
It might push no matter what, but try to reject if you can.

In my short experience with the SGN.

I think we need to gather a little more data before we make allegations... But yeah, I noticed huge decreases in network speed with the recent OTA update.

Mine is the same fast before and after :) Ping time is better by about 1/3...

Lucky you. Wish I could say the same, several others have noticed a decrease as well.
Maybe its temporary, positional, location etc. But hate to see verizon bomb a perfectly good phone.

@jbird720 The download/upload speed also depends how many people are using the same cell tower as you, the local weather, etc. Maybe try after midnight when everyone is fast asleep (on a nice non- cloudy/snow/rain day). It's usually good/fast during early mornings here too. Best wishes to you.

I better add that I am on hour 3 of getting my phone set up to the way it was before due to the update erasing all info on my phone (apps, you name it), it somehow re-formatted my SD card losing all pictures and music too.

Given the chance, I never would have done this update.

I agree but, 5 min prior to update in the exact location I was cruising! After update I had full 5 4G bars but was going slooow. And the that was after 2 resets just to make sure.
And speed test was 4/4 mpbs.

In the time I have had this phone (launch day purchaser), I couldn't get a speedtest under 20mb, now I can't get over 10. I would consider yourself lucky that you aren't seeing the same issue.

I have 3 rezounds in the house and they all 3 did the same as before. recheck speed check and see. I noticed at 6:30 it was lower on mine which is normal for time of day. But at 10:00 when I checked back to normal.
I think peak is between 5 and 9.?

What do you normally get at the location your at. Another thing you can do is remove battery and sim for 2 min. and reinstall. Let it boot up and let it sit for 5 min. and speed test again.

I normally run speed test when something isn't right/slooow.
I've gotten to know my phone very well, probably like the most of us.
But when I notice full bars, and Im seriously lagging, somethings fishy.

Personally I think Big Red isn't exactly trust worthy.

I don't trust vzw either, but I think they would have thought about the fallout from something like data changes or issues. Especially with the problems with all the other LTE phones.

I can't see any degradation of transfers since the OTA was pushed. I must say I was not wanting the upgrade (if it ain't broke.. don't fix it) So far I see no ill effects.

Don't call me too ignorant but I just tested and got 13.62 Mbps down and 1.66 Mbps up. I think that is around what I got before the update but I'm not sure. Is that considered a slowed speed? I think it's good so count me as fine. (Right?)

That is what I am getting now too. Before the update, it was much faster....

You can't really say that now. You have to figure even light data users are using more data for the download of the OTA update. That's a lot of extra network traffic. I'd say give it a few days once the update has been fanned out to more users. It's like claiming Microsoft's network is slow on the same day they push out a major update.
